Our Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Initiative involves conducting school visits to create a supportive environment for teenage girls.

Our Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Initiative involves conducting school visits to create a supportive environment for teenage girls. Through a series of engaging activities, we aim to empower them with knowledge, skills, and emotional support. Our goal is to create lasting change through empowering young girls with knowledge and skills. We believe that informed decisions about health and future should be accessible to all girls, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our program strives to create a safe environment where girls feel confident, valued, and equipped to make informed choices. By addressing both practical and emotional aspects, we contribute to a healthier and more empowered generation.

Here are the key components of our program:

School Visits and Leadership Engagement

We collaborate with school leadership to introduce our program and gain their support.

  • By involving them from the outset, we ensure a coordinated effort to prevent teenage pregnancy.
  • During these visits, we emphasize the importance of creating a safe and inclusive space for all students, regardless of gender.
  •

Reusable Pad Creation Workshops

  • Our program includes practical workshops where we train teenage girls on making reusable menstrual pads. The purpose is twofold: Self-Sufficiency and Independence:
    • By teaching girls how to create their own pads, we promote self-sufficiency and reduce dependency on disposable products. Sustainability: Reusable pads are eco-friendly and cost-effective, contributing to sustainable menstrual hygiene practices.
    • We distribute a limited number of menstrual hygiene pads to girls and teach them to make for themselves other pads to make the required number of six. This approach helps break the stigma associated with menstruation.
  •

Peer Counsellors and Girl Clubs

  • To foster emotional support and education, we train peer counsellors who lead Girl Clubs within schools.
  • These clubs provide a safe space for open discussions about reproductive health, relationships, and the risks of teenage pregnancy.
  • Peer counsellors play a crucial role in building trust among their peers, allowing girls to share their experiences and seek guidance.

Engaging Senior Women Teachers

  • We actively involve senior women teachers as key allies in our awareness campaigns.
    • Their guidance and support help young girls understand the importance of delaying pregnancy until adulthood.
    • By leveraging the wisdom and experience of these teachers, we reinforce positive messages about reproductive health.
